I bought these solely to have the shoes Cliff Booth wore, in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood and they don't disappoint. There's the faintest jingle with every step and they seem to wear a little bit of weathering well.
In terms of functionality and actually wearing them out in the world;
Moccasins have a culture surrounding them and a lifestyle associated with them, that-- living in England-- I likely won't engage in, since these shoes are designed for softer or smoother ground. If you're gonna wear these outside, I'd say don't walk on anything you wouldn't in bare feet-- Unless you can resew a new sole, which I've seen done before.
I've been wearing them around the house; on hardwood floor, on the smooth stone tiles in my garden and the grass, the soles lose the brown, fluffy surface and reveal a darker, more leather-like appearance beneath. They're perfect for what I've been using them for, if you'd like to wear them for functionality, I'd say that garden-work and house-work is perfect for them.
With a bitta sawdust, dirt, little bit of sand and about twenty hours on a smooth concrete ground put on them so far; a dry cloth was all they needed returned them to a lightly-weathered state.
